Council services, businesses and local pubs re-open

Household waste recycling centres have re-opened (handy for those of us who have been decorating or doing DIY during lock down!). There are occasionally queues depending on the tip, so do check online to see if there is a wait time before you head out to one.

Bulky waste collections are available again from the Council.

Many businesses in Chester-le-Street town centre have re-opened, so please do support as many of our fantastic local businesses as you can.

Most of the pubs around the area have re-opened as of the 6th of July, to the relief of landlords and patrons alike. Don’t forget to follow appropriate social distancing measures to ensure we avoid a localised lockdown like in Leicester.
